catalogues, plaster, wooden skid; 42 x 42 x 10 inches

Punti di Vista (Points of View) was executed in Spoleto, Italy as part of the exhibition Artedomani at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna. The catalogues used in the work were from previous exhibitions at the gallery, part of a collection of catalogues given to the artist before leaving Canada to aid in envisioning the site in advance. Once on site, Clark Espinal removed pages from these catalogues and cut out the photographs. In the empty space left by the cut-out photographs, she inserted plaster casts of various matching elements found within the gallery, such as details from the wall ornamentation. The series of casts and catalogues were placed on a wooden skid and exhibited inside a tower adjacent to the main exhibition building.
